Right around the hotel
The lake, the garden next door and the memorial on Pearl Hill are the closest things to see.

The lake sits right below the hotel. Walk the promenade, take a motor boat out to Nehru Park island in the middle, or watch the sunset from the water's edge.
Tip: there is no ticket to visit the lake; boat rides are ticketed at the jetty.

A terraced hillside garden right next to the property, with wide views over Fateh Sagar and a musical fountain in the evening. The easiest outing of all, straight out of the gate.

Pearl Hill, above Fateh Sagar, crowned by the bronze statue of Maharana Pratap on his horse Chetak. There are gardens, a small museum and an evening light and sound show.
Tip: go near sunset for the view over the lake before the show.
Gardens and heritage
Two of Udaipur's loveliest gardens, and a village of Rajasthani arts and crafts, all within ten minutes.

The 18th-century garden of the maidens, built for the queen's companions. Fountains, a lotus pool, marble elephants and shaded pavilions.
Tip: it is quietest before 10 am, and greenest through the winter.

A rural arts and crafts village at the foot of the Aravallis, with traditional huts, folk art and craftspeople at work. Festivals and performances run through the winter season.

The old city
About fifteen minutes away, the old city holds the City Palace, the boats of Lake Pichola and an evening folk dance show.

Udaipur's grand palace complex on the shore of Lake Pichola, with courtyards, museums and long lake views. Take a Pichola boat ride at golden hour to see the palace and the Lake Palace from the water.

Tip: seating is first come, so arrive early for the show.
The widest view

The white hilltop palace inside Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary, with the widest view over Udaipur's lakes and hills. Late afternoon is the time to go, for the sunset over the city.
Tip: the palace sits inside the sanctuary, so entry is ticketed at the gate.

October to March is the pleasant season, roughly 10 to 26 degrees, and the best months for sightseeing. April to June is hot. July to September brings the monsoon, when the hills turn green and the lakes fill.
By air, Maharana Pratap Airport at Dabok is about 26 km, roughly 45 minutes by road, and we can arrange a pickup. Udaipur City railway station serves the main trains. By road, the city is well connected to Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Jodhpur.
